The Arab Network @ Singapore (AN@S) cordially invites you to the launch of: Arab Worlds Beyond the Middle East and North Africa, edited by Mariam F. Alkazemi and Claudia E. Youakim. The book narrates the challenges and achievements of the Arab diaspora around the world including Singapore. This is the first time that the Arab community in Singapore is featured alongside other Arab communities globally. There will be a discussion on the book by the book’s editors and two of the contributing authors who will tune in LIVE via Zoom from all over the world including the US, Egypt and Oman. To commemorate AN@S’ 10-Year Anniversary, the event will also include the launch of our Decade of Dedication video. In addition to being the first to view the video, guests can also look forward to a musical performance which showcases the Hadhrami Arabs in Singapore.
Gracing the event as our Guests of Honour is AN@S Patron and First Gentleman of Singapore, Mr Mohamed Alhabshi. Additionally, former Singapore Foreign Minister, Mr George Yeo, will be our guest speaker and will share his experiences and perspectives on the Arab community in Singapore.
