Yemen and Dubai have decided to work together for the restoration of operations at the Port of Aden in Yemen.
The collaboration will see executives from Emirati marine terminal operator DP World and Jebel Ali FreeZone visit Yemen next week to explore the areas requiring assistance while also reviewing developments in the country.
A Saudi-led coalition, fighting the Houthi rebels in Yemen, has warned commercial vessels to stay away from areas hit by fighting, obstructing the supply of food and fuel.
"The Arab coalition warships off the Red Sea port of Hodeida were broadcasting a warning to commercial vessels to stay clear of operational areas, reported Reuters."
The Arab coalition warships off the Red Sea port of Hodeida were broadcasting a warning to commercial vessels to stay clear of operational areas, reported Reuters.
However, the coalition officials denied sending any messages aimed at deterring vessels from docking. It was necessary to inspect the vessels to prevent possible attempts to smuggle weapons to Houthi forces, they said.
Yemen's largest military port, the Port of Hodeidah, has received the first ship with fuel supply on Tuesday, after waiting in international waters for two months.
Reportedly, over nine vessels are anchored 60 miles away from the port awaiting permission to dock.
According to the Maritime Asset Security and Training (MAST), the Port of Hodeidah is in poor condition and is dealing with blackouts.
Meanwhile, the recent revision of BMP4 High Risk Area removed the Gulf of Oman, the majority of the Red Sea and East of 065 longitudes from the list of high risk areas.
